The hands-free walk-through and Siri

Say the word, and Check & Roll reads each step aloud and listens for you to say it's done — hands-free, with no signal needed.

Starting a walk-through

Start the walk-through from a checklist. Check & Roll reads the current step aloud and listens for a few words, like “done” and “skip.”

Critical steps in the walk-through

A critical step asks its question and waits for you to say the confirm word before moving on.

Driving

While it's running, Check & Roll pauses automatically if it senses the device is in a moving vehicle, so nobody reads the screen at the wheel.

Your own words

In Settings › Siri & Shortcuts, change the words the walk-through listens for to anything you like.

Siri

Siri already knows phrases like “Start departure in Check & Roll,” “What's next in Check & Roll?” and “Check it off in Check & Roll” as soon as the app is installed — see Settings › Siri & Shortcuts for the full list. For a phrase of your own, like “Leaving camp,” make a shortcut in the Shortcuts app.
